Jessie Gibbs is a Dutch mixed martial artist, who fights in the heavyweight division.[1] Has a notable wins over the UFC fighters Branden Lee Hinkle, Rob Broughton and Denis Stojnic.

Biography

Fighting out of Zuid, Netherlands, Jessie Gibbs is a heavyweight fighter who competes primarily for the Amsterdam based mixed martial arts organization M-1 Global. Known for his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Judo background Gibbs is among the best European grapplers to have competed in MMA. Gibbs made his MMA debut in 2006 at Holland's 2H2H, where he scored a victory via a first round armbar against Dutch striker Milco Voorn.[2]

After a successful first fight Gibbs faced a significant increase in level of competition when he faced the feared Russian World Sambo Champion Alexander Emelianenko, against whom he was outgrappled and defeated by a first round Kimura submission. In his next fight he was successful in a decision victory over UFC fighter Denis Stojnic. Gibbs next eight fights all came under the M-1 banner where he continued to show his promise as one of Europe's brightest prosects having suffered only one defeat at the hands of the Russian Sambo fighter Alexey Oleinik. Jessie has competed for Holland in the heavyweight division in the M-1 Mixfight Challenge in 2008 and 2009.
